It’s Navy week in Cleveland, and there’s no shortage of events as The Land hosts members of the U.S. Navy. So, don’t panic if you look up and see military aircraft flying over Cleveland this week.

Under Secretary of the Navy, The Honorable Thomas B. Modly, is returning to his hometown to educate Cleveland about the Navy’s mission and to bring the branch closer to the people it protects. He will be joined by other members of the Navy.

Cleveland Navy Week is one of 14 Navy Weeks throughout the country this year. Programs and events throughout the week will lead up to the Cleveland National Air Show over the long weekend featuring the U.S. Navy’s Blue Angels.

The following is a quick breakdown of events throughout Navy Week. For a full list of details, click here.

Tuesday, Aug. 28

  • 5 p.m. – 5:30 p.m. Navy Week Proclamation Event at the Soldiers’ and Sailors’ Monument

Wednesday, Aug. 29

  • 12 p.m. – 1 p.m. U.S. Fleet Forces Band performs a concert at Cleveland Clinic
  • 5 p.m. – 8 p.m. “Family Night Under the Stars” event at Luke Easter Park

Thursday, Aug. 30

  • 2 p.m. – 3 p.m. U.S. Fleet Forces Band and Ceremonial Drill Team perform at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center

Friday, Aug. 31

  • 10 a.m. – 5 p.m. Navy Day at Great Lakes Science Center
  • 9:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m. Gold Star Memorial Dedication event at Louis Stokes VA Medical Center

Saturday, Sept. 1

  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cleveland National Air Show
  • 5 p.m. – 6 p.m. U.S. Fleet Forces Band performs at Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
  • 6 p.m. – 10 p.m. Navy Night at the Cleveland Indians game

Sunday, Sept. 2

  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cleveland National Air Show

Monday, Sept. 3

  • 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. Cleveland National Air Show
