The upcoming season finale episode of “David Tutera’s Celebrations” airs this Friday, September 28 featuring Kym Whitley honoring Hollywood legend Marla Gibbs!

The comedian is best known for her roles on sitcoms, such as “The Boondocks,” “Young & Hungry” and The Parkers. Whitley was nominated for a 2004 BET Comedy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Box Office Movie for her role as Ormandy in the 2003 comedy “Deliver Us From Eva.”

Gibbs is known for her role as Florence Johnston in the CBS sitcom, “The Jeffersons,” for which she received five nominations for Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series. She also starred in the show’s spin-off “Checking In” (1981) and the NBC sitcom, “227” (1985–90).

Whitley hires David to throw a “Cotton Club” inspired awards ceremony for five unsung women in Hollywood, such as Ms. Gibbs. But when this diva only books four honorees, will David be able to find a fabulous fifth?
