Changes are coming to CLE.
On Monday, Cleveland City Council approved a plan for improving your ground experience at Hopkins Airport. The $3 million dollar project includes a new Ground Transportation Center, plus outdoor canopies for picking up and dropping off passengers.
The plan comes as Hopkins Airport is experiencing an upswing in business. Last month, the airport reported having its busiest summer since 2009, with 2,718,738 passengers welcomed. That number of guests is 72,204 more than last summer and 370,609 (or 15%) more than 2016, which featured the Republican National Convention in Cleveland.
