On Tuesday, Dec. 18 at 7 p.m., News 5 and anchor Danita Harris are hosting “Domestic Violence: Voices for Change,” a public forum with experts and victims to address the problem of domestic violence in our community.

Our viewers are invited and encouraged to attend this open forum at the First Unitarian Church in Shaker Heights – 21600 Shaker Blvd. Doors will open at 6 p.m., and the forum will begin at 7 p.m.

The forum will also be streamed on the News 5 Cleveland Facebook page, News5Cleveland.com, our Roku and Amazon Fire channels and the News 5 Cleveland app. Facebook fans will be able to ask questions and provide comments during the livestream.

Domestic violence is a major problem in Northeast Ohio. In 2016, News 5 published and aired “ ’til Death — Ohio Women at Risk ,” the culmination of a year-long News 5 investigation uncovering widespread and systemic failures in Ohio’s criminal justice system, placing women at increased risk for injury or death as a result of domestic violence.
