Jamie Foxx is getting into cartoon biz with a new project for 20th Century Fox Animation titled “Welcome to the Jungle,” based on an original pitch by Foxx and writer Malcolm Spellman.

Foxx is also attached to star in the film, which marks his first foray into feature film animation, Variety reports.

The Oscar winner will produce with manager and partner Jamie Rucker King via their company FoxxKing Entertainment. Foxx, an R&B artist, also will write original music for the movie.

Fox is keeping Spellman’s storyline under tight wraps. However, he did reveal a possible tag line: “Life is a jungle, and welcome to it.”

“I’m psyched about ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ because it’s specifically built to utilize Jamie’s talent with voices and as a musician,” Spellman said.

Foxx, whose most recent film credits include Warner Bros./New Line’s “Valentine’s Day,” will next be in theaters Nov. 5 with Warners’ Todd Phillips comedy, “Due Date.” Upcoming projects include Lionsgate’s video game adaptation “Kane and Lynch,” which also stars Bruce Willis.

Spellman’s credits include “Our Family Wedding” for Fox Searchlight
