Congratulations are in order as Denzel Washington was reportedly baptized over the weekend. But wait there is more, the Oscar Award winning actor also has officially became a minister as well.

The 69 year old, actor, Denzel Washington has a new role not in a movie but on life and serving God.

Denzel Washington was baptized by Archbishop Christopher Bryant at the Kelly Temple in New York City on Saturday.

According to Bishop Christopher Bryant in a Facebook post:

Denzel Washington’s recent commitment to faith and service is truly inspiring. His baptism and licensing to preach is the culmination of a life of faith.
