As the one year anniversary of Michael Jackson‘s passing draws near, Joe Jackson will file a lawsuit against entertainment production company AEG Live, accusing them of overworking his son, and helping to cause his death.
TMZ.com is reporting that Jackson’s lawyer, Brian Oxman has plans to file a complaint with the United States Attorney General. The suit will allege that the company violated the Americans with Disabilities Act, by disregarding Michael’s rumored addiction to prescription pills and forced him to commit to a grueling performance and rehearsal regimen, which ultimately assisted in his demise.
Oxman also plans to file a complaint with the Medical Board of California, arguing that AEG controlled Michael’s medical treatment Oxman will also go after Michael’s former personal physician, Dr. Conrad Murray, with a wrongful death suit for his part in the King of Pop’s death. Murray, who stayed with Jackson in his Los Angele home administered a fatal dosage of Propofal to the 50-year-old, the night before his death. He has since been charged with involuntary manslaughter, and claims that although he administered the narcotic, it was Michael himself who increased the dosage that killed him.
Last year Michael announced that he was teaming with AEG to produce his final tour to take place in London in July of 2009. He suffered a fatal cardiac arrest less than one month before he was to begin the performances. Rehearsal footage from the tour was later turned into the documentary film ‘This Is It,’ which went on to gross over $200 million worldwide.
