A prominent New York City veterinarian has a bone to pick with Mariah Carey over her unpaid pet care bills

Veterinarian Cindy Bressler filed a lawsuit against Carey in a Manhattan court on Wednesday (June 23) claiming that the songstress has failed to cough up almost $30,000 worth of past-due bills for her dog’s medical care. According to Bressler, Carey has only shelled out $8,200 to cover the $37,800 bill she racked up with her three Jack Russell terriers — Cha-Cha, JJ and Dolomite.

Bressler’s lawyer, Michael C. Posner, declined to elaborate on the treatments Carey’s dogs have received, but according to Bressler’s court papers, she “rendered veterinary services including extraordinary services to the defendant’s canines.” Bressler, who’s clientele typically includes “prominent New Yorkers and celebrity clients,” says that she provided treatment to the three dogs “at the special instance and request” of the pop star between October 31 and December 2 of last year.

Carey’s dogs are a popular topic on her Twitter account where she frequently posts photos and updates about the pooches. JJ has even starred in a series of online comedy sketches with Carey and Snoop Dogg, who provided a voice for the tiny Jack Russell Terrier
