Christina Milian’s soon-to-be ex-husband, R&B producer The Dream, filed for divorce nine days before she gave birth to their only child.

The documents were filed on Feb. 17 in Georgia, but hadn’t surfaced until the website discovered them recently. Milian gave birth to their daughter, Violet, on Feb. 26.

In the documents, The Dream, whose real name is Terius Nash, claims the marriage is “irretrievably broken,” and “there is no hope for reconciliation.”

He recently admitted attempting suicide upon realizing that his marriage with Christina Milian was headed down the drain.

In an open letter posted on his Web site, he wrote: “I’ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I’ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming.”

The two announced the breakup on July 12 after photos of The Dream frolicking on a beach with his female assistant flooded the Internet.

In his letter, The Dream also apologizes to fans for “misleading everyone” into believing his marriage was fine, when, in reality, he was, “simply scared and embarrassed to let everyone know we were failing.”

In conclusion, Dream wrote: “This too shall pass! And everything will be fine!”
