*Talk about a collabo coming way out of left field.

Dave Hollister, best known for his successful stint with R&B group BLACKstreet, says he’s in the midst of working with legendary rock band U2 to remake at least two of the group’s classic songs as part of an as-yet-unknown project.

“In the studio working with U2! Man I’m excited! Bono baby!!!!!!!!!!!!” Hollister wrote on his Twitter feed July 19.

After U2 fans began sending him messages seeking more information, Hollister said he was collaborating with the group on new versions of the songs “Grace” from 2001′s “All That You Can’t Leave Behind” and “All I Want Is You” from 1988′s “Rattle and Hum.” [Listen below.]

It is unclear if Hollister, who said he was in Sacramento, Calif., was actually in the same studio with members of U2 or whether they were working together from separate locations.

Hollister pursued a solo career in 1999 and enjoyed a handful of hits, including “One Woman Man” in from his 2000 album “Chicago ’85… The Movie.” [Scroll down to watch the video.] Source
