R&B veteran and two-time Grammy Award nominee Charlie Wilson is among the all-star line-up of artists set to play the Macy’s Music Festival in downtown Cincinnati, Ohio this weekend at Paul Brown Stadium.
Wilson, formerly of the acclaimed Gap Band, will join Teena Marie, Jahiem, Melanie Fiona and the funk group Cameo on stage Friday, July 30, and on the next day, Saturday, July 31, the headliners will be Maze, featuring Frankie Beverly, Erykah Badu, En Vogue, K’Jon and Raheem DeVaughn.
Billboard magazine named Wilson the number-one urban contemporary artist of 2009 and his hit, “There Goes My Baby,” the number-one urban contemporary single of 2009. The song also nabbed Wilson a Grammy nomination for best male R&B vocal performance and helped his second solo LP, “Uncle Charlie,” top the charts
