Actor Tommy “Tiny” Lister, fame for his role as Deebo on cult classic movie Friday has passed away. He was 62.

TMZ reports that law enforcement was summoned to Lister’s apartment in Marina Del Rey on Thursday afternoon (Dec. 10), shortly before 3 PM. Reportedly the call was for an unconscious male.

Unfortunately, Lister was pronounced dead at the scene.

It goes without saying that the Hip-Hop world is reeling from his untimely passing. Besides playing the bully of the hood Deebo in Friday and Next Friday, the 6′ 5″ actor had roles in a multitude of films that include The Fifth Element, The Players Club and The Wash as well as television credits that include The Jamie Foxx Show and Martin.

Ice Cube took to Twitter to salute his fallen friend and co-star. “RIP Tiny ‘Deebo’ Lister. America’s favorite bully was a born entertainer who would pop into character at the drop of a hat terrifying people on and off camera,” wrote Cube. “Followed by a big smile and laugh. Thank you for being a good dude at heart. I miss you already.”

Check out some of the numerous homages being paid to Deebo below.
