Gabrielle Union, an advocate for breast cancer awareness as a result of losing a friend to the disease, recently participated in the 20th Annual Susan G. Komen Race for the Cure in New York’s Central Park – a 5K (3.1 mile) course with her team, Gabby’s Circle of Promise. She was joined by over 24,000 participated (which included 1,600 breast cancer survivors).

The month of October is focused solely on raising awareness throughout the nation about breast cancer and to raise funds towards research to find a cure. Beauty companies continue to contribute to the cause by creating wonderful products that make your heart skip a beat all-the-while nurturing your philanthropic spirit because you can donate to this cause at the time of purchase.

Nail polish removers aren’t known for having a pleasant smell, so Butter London Powder Room Nail Polish Remover ($5, ulta.com) is definitely an improvement on the tried & true formulas we’ve always known because it’s a sweet smelling lacquer remover. When you buy this product, you can donate to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation in one of three ways: add $1 increments to your checkout basket, buy a $5 Pink Ribbon Tote or Donate minutes of research time directly to the foundation, for example $25 equals 30 minutes of breast cancer research.

What YOU Can Do To Help Prevent Breast Cancer

Bobbi Brown’s Breast Cancer Awareness Pink Shimmer Brick ($38, macys.com) reminds us all that staying pretty isn’t something we should feel guilty about – it should be celebrated. If a soft-pink glow is what you’re after, then this is the product for you. This shimmering, brush-on powder creates a soft, light pink glow. Just dust lightly on your cheekbones after applying your blush. This compact works well with neutral and pink blush.  In connection with the sale of this eyeshadow compact, Bobbi Brown will donate (from North America’s sales) $35,000 to the Breast Cancer Research Foundation.
