New York– Tyler Perry’s name is all over the place as the NAACP announced the nominees for its 42nd Image Awards on Wednesday. Perry’s “For Colored Girls” topped the feature film field with seven nominations and his “Tyler Perry’s Why Did I Get Married Too?” picked up four. He’s also got mentions in TV categories for “Tyler Perry’s House of Payne” and “Tyler Perry’s Meet the Browns.” Jay-Z is nominated for the Literary Work category for his book “Decoded”, as well as a nomination for best Male artist.

The NAACP Image Awards honor accomplishments of people of color in the fields of television, music, literature and film, as well as individuals who promote social justice through creative endeavors. Kudos will be handed out Friday, March 4, at the Paley Center for Media in Beverly Hills and will be broadcast live on Fox.
