Recently released from jail after a 2 1/2 year stint for assaulting a woman with a bottle , rapper Da Brat makes it clear that she’s not planning on retiring anytime soon.  In a recent interview with CNN.com Shawntae Harris, a.k.a. Da Brat, discusses her time in jail and also what she plans to do in the future.  She had this to say:

“I actually didn’t do any writing of music while I was locked up. I wrote a book, but I didn’t do any music.

But I’m getting back into the swing of things. I have a mixed tape out called “Life After Death” which you can find on Global14.com and I discuss my prison stint a little bit. A couple of the remixes I did are on there, including a remix of (the Chris Brown song) “Look At Me Now” and I am very happy and excited about it.”

And in response to getting her own reality show:

I want to show people who I am, introduce them to my family, where I’ve come from, how I’m helping people with my charity work. I know it sounds boring, but with that comes with a lot and a lot of bumps in the road.

So I’m currently shopping for a deal right now.”

Good luck to Da Brat on her come baack trail and I personally cant wait till her next album drops.  The game has been missing real lyrical female MCs for a minute.
