Back in 2007, before supermodel Selita Ebanks was Kanye West’s muse, she was in a relationship with Mariah Carey’s husband and ‘America’s Got Talent’ host, Nick Cannon. Nick eventually put a 12 carat ring on it right in the middle of Times Square, asking Selita to marry him with the assistance of a huge jumbotron. A few months later, the engagement was called off and the couple went their separate ways.
Selita’s been pretty mute about the engagement and Nick Cannon since then, but during a visit to the HDNet talk show ‘Naughty But Nice Rob,’ she spilled some interesting details about the seriousness of their relationship, graded his kissing skills and hinted to what Nick’s pee wee herman was like. She also discussed being a Victoria’s Secret model and what frustrates her about ‘voluptuous women:
On Being Engaged to Nick Cannon
“I mean I technically wore a ring but I don’t think I was really engaged. I want a Prince. I want Prince Harry. Do you think the queen would accept me?”
On Nick’s Kissing Skills & Package
“Meh.”
On Being a Victoria’s Secret Model
“Oh, I could make some money[…]Well if you’re an angel those other b*tches don’t mess with you. Behind the scenes you do hear snide remarks. I’ve heard girls literally talk about another girl in her face, and literally if she had claws she would be minced meat.”
Advice for Larger Framed Women
“Listen, I love voluptuous women, what bothers me is when they wear spandex. Don’t wear spandex ladies if you are over size 16. Just because it comes in your size does not mean it’s for you. As women we can wear whatever we want, be sexy but just know the difference, everything has a time and place.”
Selita just reminded me why I don’t take a lot of celebrity couples serious. In photos they look pretty much in love but her answers to the engagement question makes me believe the relationship was a publicity stunt.
