LORAIN COUNTY, OH (WOIO) –
A man from New Jersey is facing felony drug charges after Ohio State Highway Patrol troopers seized three pounds of hydroponic marijuana, valued at nearly $15K, during a traffic stop in Lorain County.
Troopers stopped a 2011 Chevy Aveo for a following too closely at approximately 10:10AM Wednesday morning. Criminal indicators were observed and a Patrol drug-sniffing canine alerted to the vehicle. A probable cause search revealed three pounds of hydroponic marijuana.
The driver, 31-year-old Fabrice Sylvain, was charged with possession of marijuana and aggravated trafficking in marijuana, both third-degree felonies.
Sylvain was incarcerated in the Lorain County Jail. If convicted, he could face up to 10 years in prison and a $20,000 fine.
