Reality TV star Omarosa Manigault is mourning the sudden, tragic loss of her older brother, Jack Manigault.
Jack, 40, was shot dead on Sunday when someone broke into his Youngstown, Ohio, home, the The Vindicator reports.
According to the Ohio newspaper, the suspected gunman is Marco Cardenas, who once dated Jack’s live-in girlfriend. The couple was sleeping at the time the suspect entered the residence.
Marco allegedly pushed past the girlfriend’s children during the incident before shooting Jack. The gunman also pistol-whipped Jack’s girlfriend in the head, and he tried to shoot Jack one last time before the kids pushed him out of the house.
There’s no word on what may have led up to the deadly attack.
“We thank everyone for their amazing outpouring of support surrounding the tragic death of my brother Jack,” Omarosa said in a statement. “Right now it is an extremely difficult time and we ask that you allow family privacy to grieve and make all necessary arrangements.”
She added, “My brother was so special to us! We loved him unconditionally and we were so proud of him when he turned his life around and gave his life to God two years ago.”
Efforts to reach Omarosa’s camp for further comment have not been successful.
