BAY VILLAGE, OH (WOIO) –

Thursday marks the 22nd anniversary of the disappearance of Amy Mihaljevic.

Amy was 11-years-old when she was kidnapped from a shopping plaza on Wolf Road. Amy was lured to the plaza by a man who told her to meet him there to pick out a gift for her mother who had been promoted at work.

Her body was found in a field in Ruggles Township, Ashland County months later.

A suspect has never been arrested.

Police in Bay Village still believe there is someone out there with a piece of information that could help break the case wide open.

“And that’s the kind of person we are looking for, those that are withholding something for whatever reason, we don’t care and have decided they need to get it off their chest and report that,” said Bay Village Police Lt. Mark Spatzel.  “So we want those people who think they have some information that might be important to us to call us.”

Bay Village Police confirms they have not ruled out Frank Dienes. The Seven Hills man is currently behind bars and accused of murdering homeless man Joseph Kopp.
