PAINESVILLE TOWNSHIP, Ohio – The woman who was run over by a tractor trailer in a Lake County shopping center parking lot has died.
The incident happened Thursday in front of the Bed, Bath, and Beyond store on Mentor Avenue in Painesville Township, just east of the Mentor city limits.
The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office identified the woman as 62-year-old Maryann Depetris of Painesville.
The Lake County Sheriff’s Office said Depetris had just left the store and started to walk around the parked truck near the store’s entrance, when the truck driver moved the truck forward. Depetris was knocked down by the front-right corner of the truck, and then the front-right tire ran over part of her leg and side.
She was taken to a local hospital and then flown to MetroHealth Medical Center in Cleveland, where she later died.
The sheriff’s office said no charges have been filed in the case, especially because it happened on private property.
