VH1 will be kicking off a series of music-themed biopics with a made-for-TV movie on “TLC.”

Following the success of its scripted original series “Single Ladies,” the network has planned to use that format while telling the real-life stories of some of your favorite musical acts.

TLC will be first up in the series of small-screen biopics, but there’s no word on when the film will make it to air just yet.

Kate Lanier, the writer behind Glitter and What’s Love Got to Do With It, will be writing the movie. She’ll have a lot of material to work with as the group has been through numerous ups and downs, including filing for bankruptcy despite selling millions of albums. On the personal side, there’s Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes’ untimely death in 2002.

Casting for the film hasn’t been announced yet, but we’re curious to see who will play. No matter who gets the job, though, Chilli seems to be pretty happy about VH1 bringing the TLC story to TV. “The reality of this brings me to tears because I am seeing one of my dreams come to life,” she said in a statement. “I always felt our story had to be told.”
