SANDUSKY, Ohio – A 2-year-old was taken to an Erie County hospital after her mother thought she ate an ecstasy pill.

The child’s 26-year-old mother said her sister brought a bag of ecstasy to her house on Tiffin Avenue in Sandusky on Dec. 20, the report said.

The woman told her sister to “get that stuff out of her house and she thought that she did,” according to the report from the Erie County Sheriff’s Office. On Wednesday, the woman said her sister called looking for the bag of drugs, they couldn’t locate it.

Soon after, the woman spotted her 2-year-old daughter “sitting on the couch chewing on something.” The report said the mother found a pinkish-colored pill in her young daughter’s mouth and called 911.

The girl was taken to Firelands Hospital, where the pill was recovered for evidence and will be tested. Deputies later search the house, but did not find any other drugs.
