CLEVELAND –
Late Afternoon Update: We are starting to see bands intensify a bit across southern Cuyahoga and northern Medina. Winds will start turning NW.
Afternoon Update: 4 or 5 bands of lake effect snow affecting the region from Cleveland NE. Temps are in the upper 20s with wind chills in the teens. Expect 3-5 inches of additional daytime snow. Our winds will twist a bit more northerly, which will favor inland areas south of Cleveland.
Again with lake effect squalls, remember – where squalls persist. Not everyone gets hammered here.
Morning Update: Wind chills will hover in the teens this morning with gusts to 30 mph. Light to moderate snow is likely through lunchtime before Lake Effect snow bands become better organized.
Moderate to heavy snow is possible late this afternoon and evening with snowfall rates of 1″ per hour. Blowing and drifting snow will reduce visibility for the evening commute. In general, snow totals will range from 2 to 6 inches today, where squalls persist. Higher totals are possible in the Snowbelt and additional accumulations are likely overnight.

A Lake Effect Snow Warning is in effect for Cuyahoga, Lake, Geauga, Ashtabula, Summit, Medina, Portage and Trumbull Counties until noon Tuesday. Snowfall totals by Tuesday afternoon will range from 8 to 16 inches in the Snowbelt where squalls persist.
Heavy snow is falling in Lake and Ashtabula Counties this morning as a band of snow hugs the lakeshore. Prepare for snowfall rates of 1″ per hour and reduced visibility with blowing and drifting snow.
Light snow is falling elsewhere, but not accumulating to much more than a dusting to 1″.
The wind is blowing from the west this morning, keeping heavy snow mainly over the lake. As the wind shifts northwest this afternoon, heavy lake effect snow bands will move over Northeast Ohio. Wind gusts to 30 mph will cause blowing and drifting snow, making travel hazardous through Tuesday afternoon.
In the Snowbelt, expect 4-6 inches of snow Monday, followed by 4-8 inches of snow Monday night. Other areas will receive 1-4 inches Monday, followed by 2-4 inches of snow Monday night. Remember, snow totals will be highest where squalls persist.
Snow will end by Tuesday evening in far Northeastern Ohio.
A quick-moving disturbance will trigger a chance of snow showers, mainly east of Cleveland Wednesday evening. Dry weather returns Thursday and Friday, along with mild air. Temperatures at the end of the week will hit the low-to-mid 40s.
