Last week Indians Pitcher Fausto Carmona was arrested in the Dominican Republic and charged with using a false identity. Authorities allege that Carmona’s real name is Roberto Hernandez Heredia and he is also 31 years old not 28 like the Indians press guide says.
“Carmona” was released on $13,000 bond and issued a tearful apology on his way out of the courtroom. This really makes you wonder who is in charge of doing background checks for the Cleveland Indians? “Carmona” has been with the Indians for 5 seasons and no one investigated his background before paying him millions of dollars?
