The arrival of Kirk Franklin on the gospel music scene was, without a doubt, a landmark in Gospel music history. Kirk Franklin (born January 26, 1970) is one of the popular faces of Gospel music of our time. He is a musician, choir director, and most recently an author. His radical style of music and collaborations with Hip-Hop artists created a new lane for Gospel artists and was very controversial during his early career. His music defied traditional, conservative Christian music. It was because of Kirk Franklin that such a new sound has been accepted into Gospel music to this day.
