A Georgia bus driver who was stabbed in the face with a pen while trying to break up a fight with a passenger over a darn cellphone has been suspended.

The driver 39 year old Damian Haney, was suspended with pay for not following protocol on the Cobb County Transit bus, Cobb County spokeswoman AikWah Leow told WGCL-Atlanta.

“The operator should have called dispatch for assistance and not confronted the passenger,” says Cobb County Transit Director Rebecca Gutowsky.

Police say the driver went to the back of the bus to keep the drama from escalating in Kennesaw Georgia. That’s when 21 year old Nicole Twyne (seen above) grabbed a pen from the driver’s pocket and stabbed him several times in the face.

Twyne has been charged with aggravated battery.

The bus driver is doing fine.
