Last night during the Rising stars game at NBA All Star weekend in Orlando, Cleveland Cavalier rookies Kyrie Irving and Tristan Thompson led their respective squads in scoring but only one could come out the winner.  Irving, playing for team Chuck, led all scorers with 34 points, including 8-8 from 3 pt range, and also had 9 assists as his team beat Thompson’s team Shaq 146-133.  Thompson led team Shaq with 20 points.

Kyrie Irving was named the games MVP and continues to show why he was selected number 1 overall in this past June’s NBA draft.  Irving will be in action tonight during the NBA Skills Challenge against other top NBA point guards such as Russell Westbrook of Oklahoma City and Deron Williams of the New Jersey Nets.  Hopefully the young up and coming star can show the vets a thing or two tonight, one thing is for sure the whole city of Cleveland is behind him.
