Rush Limbaugh has always been known for his controversial topics and some would say that he (in the words of Charlie Murphy) is a “habitual- line stepper” when it comes to the things that he says.  This past week he did it again and this time it could cost him a lot of money.

This past Wednesday Rush made a comment on his show about college student Sandra Fluke who testified in front of congress about employers continuing to provide birth control as part of their health care package.  Limbaugh had this to say in reference to Ms. Fluke:

“What does it say about the college co-ed Sandra Fluke, who goes before a congressional committee and essentially says that she must be paid to have sex, what does that make her? It makes her a slut, right? It makes her a prostitute. She wants to be paid to have sex. She’s having so much sex she can’t afford the contraception. She wants you and me and the taxpayers to pay her to have sex. What does that make us? We’re the pimps.”

Obviously this was way out of bounds to refer to this college student as a “slut” and a “prostitute”  and this sets Rush up to be sued for a large sum of money for Slander if Sandra Fluke decides to go that route.  Instead of back tracking or apologizing for his statements Limbaugh took it a step further on Thursday saying:

“if we’re going to pay for your contraceptives and thus pay for you to have sex, we want something for it. We want you to post the videos online so we can all watch.”

Rush Limbaugh has a nationally syndicated show and he reaches millions of listeners every day so there is no doubt that his comments were harmful to this young lady.  Despite all the controversy Ms. Fluke has handled herself gracefully, hopefully she’ll get her revenge through the legal system.
