LOCAL NEWS: Defendants Who Owe $97,193.82 in Child Support

Cuyahoga County Prosecutor Bill Mason announced that seven defendants were indicted for failing to pay child support.

These seven defendants owe a combined $97,193.82 in child support. The charge of criminal non-support is a fifth degree felony which carries a maximum sentence of one year in prison.

These indictments are a result of a joint investigative effort by the Cuyahoga County Child Support Enforcement Agency (CSEA) and the Cuyahoga County Prosecutor’s Office. Arraignments for the following defendants are scheduled for Thursday, March 29, 2012:

Maurice Pettis, 43, of Cleveland, was indicted on (6) counts of criminal non-support. He owes $32,910.22 for his two children ages 8 and 10. Two hearings were held in Domestic Relations Court between 2007 and 2010. The last voluntary payment was made on October 20, 2009, in the amount of $55.36.
Tony Oglesby, 45, of Cleveland, was indicted on (1) count of criminal non-support. He owes $27,850.18 for his 22-year-old child. Three hearings were held in Juvenile Court between 1997 and 2010. The last voluntary payment was made on August 3, 2010, in the amount of $306.75.
Robert Miller, 53, of Chesterland, was indicted on (1) count of criminal non-support. He owes $8,634.59 for his two children ages 16 and 19. Three hearings were held in Domestic Relations Court between 2007 and 2011. The last voluntary payment was made on August 29, 2011, in the amount of $350.00.
Sean Gauthier, 36, of Cleveland, was indicted on (1) count of criminal non-support. He owes $8,375.05 for his 8-year-old child. Two hearings were held in Juvenile Court between 2010 and 2011. The last voluntary payment was made on August 10, 2011, in the amount of $217.00.
Michael Watkins, 25, of Cleveland, was indicted on (2) counts of criminal non-support. He owes $7,588.40 for his 4-year-old child. Two hearings were held in Juvenile Court between 2009 and 2010. The last voluntary payment was made on January 31, 2011, in the amount of $88.41.
Kenneth Sanney, 27, of Cleveland, was indicted on (1) count of criminal non-support. He owes $6,677.40 for his 8-year-old child. Two hearings were held in Juvenile Court between 2008 and 2011. The last voluntary payment was made on December 19, 2011, in the amount of $55.00.
Thomas Moon, 26, of Cleveland, was indicted on (1) count of criminal non-support. He owes $5,157.98 for his 5-year-old child. Two hearings were held in Juvenile Court between 2007 and 2010. No payments have ever been made on this case.
