BROOK PARK, OH (WOIO) –

A 24-year-old man was shot during a road rage incident around 11:40 p.m. Saturday night at Fry Road and Sylvia Drive.

Brook Park Police arrived on scene and located the victim, Corey Tiller  with a gunshot wound to the chest. Emergency crews were called to the scene and transported Tiller to MetroHealth Medical Center. As of Monday afternoon, he is listed in good condition.

Upon further investigation, officers discovered that Tiller had gotten out of the vehicle to confront the driver of another vehicle following a road rage incident that happened on Fry Road, and that’s when he was shot in the chest.

The victim’s cousin called 911, “This man was trying to cut us off. We stopped. He started yelling at my cousin and he got shot.”

The suspect vehicle is described as a light-colored, older-model minivan. The shooting driver is described as a middle-aged white male, 40s or 50s, with possible salt and pepper hair.

The suspect vehicle left the scene eastbound on Sylvia Drive prior to police arrival.

Anyone with information regarding the identity of the shooter should contact the Brook Park Police Department at (216) 433-1234.

Statement from Corey Tiller:

Last Saturday, I was involved in an altercation in Brook Park, in which I sustained a gunshot wound to the chest. I would like to thank the first responders and my medical team at MetroHealth for the care I have received, as well as the Cleveland community for their well wishes and prayers. However, I am still recovering from my chest injury and ask that the media respect my privacy, and the privacy of my loved ones, at this time.

Thank You.
