The Stow Police Department has received two separate reports of instances in which an adult male has had suspicious interaction with young children in the City of Stow.
It has not been established if it was the same male in both incidents. The first incident occurred on March 17, 2012, around 7:00 p.m. and was reported the same day about one hour later. The second occurred on April 9, 2012, at 1:30 p.m. and was reported the following day.
On March 17, 2012, an adult male, while operating a vehicle in the area of Bryn Athen Drive, Stow, stopped and asked an eight-year-old female and her friends if they had seen his lost puppy. One of the girls asked for his phone number in case they found it and he responded it was on the tag and drove away. The male did not exit the vehicle nor make any attempt to lure any of the girls to go with him. This subject was described as a middle-aged white male, with a goatee and straight, black, thick hair. He was also wearing gloves and it was noted this was a warmer day in March. The vehicle is similar to a Honda Civic, blue, with a “fin” on the back.
On April 9, 2012, a woman was at the SKIP playground with several children, her own as well as neighborhood children, and she noticed an older, white male was playing basketball with the children. She then observed the male walking away from the courts with one of the children, a male, age ten. She called out to the ten-year-old boy and he turned and came back. The woman described this person as a white male, tall, heavy-set, 50-60 years old, with a thick white mustache, balding with some gray hair. He was wearing a royal blue sweatsuit.
