After years of effort it looks like the fight against HIV/AIDS has taken a turn for the better!

A panel of federal health advisers has endorsed the first drug shown to prevent HIV infection in healthy people, clearing the way for a potentially landmark approval in the 30-year-old effort against the virus that causes AIDS.

Its important to note that the FDA is not required to follow the recommendation of the panel, they usually do and a decision should come by June 15th on whether or not to release this to the public.

Just think, one of the most devastating diseases of our time could be close to being eliminated.  Keep up the fight!
