There are some people who have been on the anti-”Basketball Wives” bandwagon from the very beginning and then there are others who have come late to the party. Former cast member Meeka Claxton has a bone to pick with the latter. If you remember last season, she left the show after some drama with Tami that resulted in a blow to her face in Italy. She responded with a lawsuit but the reaction to her legal action was quite different from the reaction people have had to Jen filing papers against Evelyn’s assistant, and in a blog post titled, “Am I Less of a Human Being?” she wants to know why:

Am I mad? No, more like I’m disappointed. When I was attacked everyone thought it was funny. No one thought her actions were disgraceful. As a matter of fact the very same ladies (for lack of a better word) that are “hurt” by the backlash, joked about me being attacked. They laughed and even called me names for taking a stand against her.

I thought pressing charges was wack? Oooooh, I get it…it’s wack when it’s not you!

They all (except Royce) stood behind her, co-signing her actions. But now you want everyone to believe you want balance? As much as their hypocrisy bothers me, I expect it because now their actions threaten their money. So, I knew the crocodile tears weren’t far behind.

What really hurts me are all of the talk show hosts and journalists that are suddenly disturbed by what they are seeing. Taking stands, boycotting, signing petitions etc…Isn’t this what I contacted all of you about last year? I asked for your support, none of which I received. But now it’s a problem? So, it was ok for me to be physically assaulted? Where was all of this “Call To Action” last year? Am I less of a human being?

In case you’re wondering who these talk show hosts and journalists are, Meeka laid that all out on Twitter, saying it’s directed “@Wendy Williams, ‘The View’, etc.” I’m going to assume that et cetera is former “View” cast member Star Jones whose beefing up a coalition to refute the show.

I wasn’t so in tune with the last season of the series but as I recall most people felt like Meeka had sort of put herself in a bad position on the show. Not that she deserved to be “assaulted, battered, beat, threatened, menaced, attacked, jumped on, pushed to the ground, thrashed, punched, and shoved,” as her lawsuit stated, but that she wasn’t exactly an innocent bystander because in some ways she had tried to keep up with the bullying inner circle and had been caught in some lies. On the other hand, Jen seems to be over the drama and people keep trying to force her to relive it or can’t keep their hands to themselves while having a discussion. As far as Keisha goes, it’s clear as day that she didn’t provoke Tami in any way but I also think the contrast between her somewhat helpless and innocent image and Tami’s overbearing disrespect and belittling does magnify Tami’s fault much more.

It’s clear Meeka is a little mad and a little disappointed but the question is does she have a right to be. The delayed reaction may not be as personal as she’s making it because truthfully some people feel the show shouldn’t have even had a second season because of the bickering. But now with nonstop fights and foolishness every week, I think it’s become way too much for people who were even fans at one point.

Why do you think people didn’t support Meeka after her fight and lawsuit against Tami?
