CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

19 Action News is learning more about a series of carjackings in the heart of downtown Cleveland.

On July 30, a young mother was attacked at West 9th and St. Clair as she was leaving her job as a parking lot attendant in the Warehouse District. The gunman made off with her car, her phone and her laptop.

“When I got out of the car, he told me to get on the ground and pointed a gun to my head,” the victim said. She said she begged him not to shoot, and he made off with her car.

Police later found the car abandoned in the same vicinity where other cars were dumped.

19 Action News has obtained reports that show one of the carjackings happened in late June at 600 Front Avenue. Another happened July 12 at West 3rd and Lakeside.

No arrests so far, but Cleveland Police have reason to believe the crimes are related.

Crime Stoppers is offering a reward for information about the carjackings. Call 216-25-CRIME (7463) if you have any information to help police. You can remain anonymous.
