HUNTSVILLE, Ala. – Black Friday is still more than a month away, but now is the time to start thinking about saving for those big purchases. The deal site, dealnews, predicts what will be hot this holiday shopping season.

If you need a new TV, dealnews said the week of Black Friday may be the time to buy it. The site is predicting several sizes will hit all-time low prices. However, don’t expect to grab a top of the line product for these prices. Most are from third-tier manufactures.

The TV’s that may hit bargain prices include the 42″ 1080p LCD HDTV. Dealnews predicts it could be as low as $189. Last year, a Sharp 42″ 1080p LCD HDTV hit that price, but dealnews said the offer only lasted 20 minutes. This year, the price is expected to be more widespread.

If you want a smaller TV, the 32″ 1080p LCD HDTV is predicted to hit $159, according to dealnews. If your set doesn’t go on sale during the holidays, the Super Bowl is another time TVs are drastically reduced.

Apple deals

Don’t expect big discounts from Apple. Dealnews said they are consistently the same, about a 5-10 percent discount on iPads, iPods, MacBooks and iMacs. The store also throws in free shipping with no minimum purchase.

If you really want to save on Apple products, dealnews said third-party merchants will undercut Apple’s deals. In 2011, Amazon and Best Buy beat Apple’s deals on the MacBook Pro and Macbook Air by $149. MacMall offered up to 20 percent off some Apple computers.

Last year, dealnews predicted there wouldn’t be sales on the latest generation iPhone, but they were surprised when Fry’s Electronics dropped the six week old iPhone 4S $25 below what Apple was charging.

However, dealnews is still saying there’s a slim chance Fry’s or another merchant will do the same thing this year for the iPhone 5. If the deals happen, jump on it.

Clothing deals

If you need some new clothes, you may want to shop for them online. The best online coupons are offered in the days around Black Friday. Many are for an extra percentage off on top of a sale.

Dealnews predicts American Eagle, Aeropostale, Nautica, Abercrombie & Fitch, Express, Eddie Bauer, DKNY, Perry Ellis, Lands’ End, Dockers, Ann Taylor, Ann Taylor LOFT, Lucky Brand Jeans, and more will take an extra 30-50 percent off during Black Friday sales.

Smartphones

Last holiday season, smartphones sold for as little as a penny. Dealnews points out that Amazon sold the newly released Motorola DROID RAZR for just a cent. Then, Wirefly and AT&T followed with their own penny or free sales. It’s expected these deals will return, and they may even start a week before Black Friday.

Tablet deals

There will be lots of new tablets in the spotlight this holiday. There are many that can you buy for $200 or less, and even more expected to be released before the holidays. However, that price is already so rock bottom you may not see deeper discounts.

There may be good news if you’ve been holding out for an iPad. Dealnews thinks there could be some deals on the way adding that Apple surprised the deal finding site by discounting the iPad. Just always look at all your options. Sometimes you can get Apple products cheaper at other retailers.

It’s expected the new iPad line could fall to $440, while the entry-level iPad could be sold for $299.

For eBook readers, Dealnews expects discounts on older models.
