Frank Russo’s days as a free man could be ending soon. After the guilty pleas of Samir Mohammad and Sam Quasem today the government filed a motion in the Russo case.

It asks Federal Judge Sarah Lioi to schedule a hearing for Russo. In the past the government had asked that the court allow Russo to remain free so that he could cooperate with their efforts in prosecuting others.

Now the government says his cooperation is “substantially complete”. It is expected that the government will ask that the judge sentence Russo to something less than his original 262 month sentence.

The exact amount of time taken off will be recommended by prosecutors but ultimately decided by Judge Lioi.
