UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, Ohio – More than a dozen middle school students were robbed of their iPads over the last two weeks, Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District officials said.

The school district is working with Cleveland Heights, University Heights and South Euclid police after the school-purchased Apple products were taken while the students were walking home from school.

“This news frustrates and outrages us,” Superintendent Doug Heuer said, in a statement. “Many people know our middle school students carry iPads, making them targets for theft.”

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District will address the media about the thefts on Friday afternoon.

“We ask all residents to work with us to protect our students and make sure they receive the best education possible. If you hear or see anything, please share what you know with the District and local police authorities,” Heuer said.
