CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

An Election Day billboard battle rages on in Cleveland.

A number of “Voting Fraud is a Felony” billboards were placed in inner city neighborhoods several weeks ago. The billboards, which many saw as an act of voter intimidation, were paid for by an anonymous, out-of-state client.

Amid a growing number of complaints from residents and public officials, Cleveland City Councilwoman Phyllis Cleveland and Ohio State Senator Nina Turner went to Clear Channel, who owns the billboards.

Clear Channel’s response to the growing complaints was to put up the new billboards.

On Monday, those 15 new billboards went up “Voting is a Right. Not a Crime!” in Cleveland.
