NORTHEAST OHIO (WOIO) –

Just in time for holiday travel, the National Weather Service issued a Winter Storm Warning which will be in effect until 7 p.m. Saturday.

The storm may bring accumulations of 6-12 inches of snow across Northeast Ohio with the snow belt and Northwest Pennsylvania seeing 12-15 inches of snow.

Winds will be 20-30 mph with gusts reaching 55 mph causing driving hazards on the roadways with blowing and drifting snow.  Visibility will be greatly reduced as well.

The warning is for the following counties: Ashtabula County, Cuyahoga County, Geauga County and Lake County.

The Ohio Department of Transportation District 12 continues working in 12-hour shifts with more than 75 crews battling snow and ice in Cuyahoga, Lake & Geauga Counties.  ODOT snow and ice forces will be staffed around-the-clock through the duration of this winter blast and crews will be adjusted as needed.
