Philadelphia schools have taken what some might call a drastic measure to try to curb teen pregnancy and the spread of STD’s in young ones.  The school district has decided to install free condom dispensers in 22 of the 51 Philadelphia high schools.  School district spokesman Fernando Gallard said on Thursday:

“It’s a self-service set-up so you can actually walk into the nurse’s office, and there is a dispenser on the wall and you just help yourself to them,” he said.

Gallard also said that the schools that were chosen based on a report from the city’s Health Department. Parents who do not want their child to participate in the program can choose to opt out.
