CLEVELAND – Cleveland City Council members Zack Reed, along with workers at the Cleveland Rape Crisis Center and others will meet with east side residents Tuesday night to address safety concerns after a number of homicides and rapes in and around E. 93rd Street.

The meeting is being held at East Prep Woodland Hills Campus, located at 9201 Crane Ave, and is set to begin at 6 p.m.

The discussion comes after a kidnapping on March 30 in the 2900 block of East 116 St. A 20-year-old woman said she was walking to work around 5:30 p.m. when an unknown man grabbed her from behind and dragged her toward an abandoned house.

The attack was stopped when passersby yelled, causing the suspect to flee.

Jazmine Trotter and Christine Malone were both found dead along East 93rd Street recently. Both women had been beaten to death, the medical examiner’s office confirmed.
