*CBS either thinks what most of us were thinking or the network planned sabotage from the beginning.

The much talked about TV series adaptation, “Beverly Hills Cop,” which starred Eddie Murphy on the big screen, won’t make it to the network’s future line up.

Murphy, who was to appear in the pilot, teamed up with producer Shawn Ryan and Sony Pictures Television, to produce a small screen version of the film franchise, as a serial.

Brandon T. Jackson was set to star as Axel Foley’s son and follow in his footsteps.

It was a serious project with several networks vetting to house the show.

After the pilot episode was shot earlier this year, CBS decided it wanted nothing to do with, saying it wasn’t such a good fit.

Described as an hour-long crime procedural with strong comedic elements, the series was to have a similar fish-out-of-water setup as the film, and would center on Axel Foley’s son, Aaron, a blue-collar police officer, trying to make a name for himself, absent of his prominent father’s influence, and the criminals among the rich and famous in Beverly Hills he helps eliminate.
