LAKE COUNTY, OH (WOIO) –
With the heavy rainfall hitting NE Ohio, many roads in Lake County have had to be closed due to flooding and unsafe conditions for drivers and pedestrians. Local police departments report the following road closures.
n Eastlake:
Lakeshore Blvd. is shut down at Erie Road near the Chagrin River.
In Painesville:
Vrooman Road in Leroy Township is closed with water levels at 12 feet.
The Chagrin River is slightly flooded. Police sent out four to five emergency alerts to about 3,000 Eastlake residence around 4:30 a.m.
Although the water is receding in some areas, more reports of closed roads will be added to inform residents of traffic dangers or impassable streets.
In Mentor:
SR 306 near Rte 20 and Tyler Blvd. is closed.
5955 Hopkins Road is also not accessible to through traffic.
