Public utilities custodial worker Craig Amie was taken into custody Thursday, Cleveland Mayor’s Office spokeswoman Maureen Harper said.

Amie was hired in December 2007. He has been suspended without pay pending the outcome of the criminal investigation, Harper said.

Law enforcement officials said the heroin operation was financed by traffickers robbing other drug dealers.
