CLEVELAND – Samantha Paizs and her fiancé, John Hall, will soon move into a completely refurbished home in Cleveland’s Slavic Village neighborhood.

It’s a house that is located on the same street where Paizs grew up. At one time, the house was nearly condemned, but was saved by the ongoing Slavic Village Recovery program.

“I’m excited, because this where we want to be,” Paizs said. “This is the good times I remember; it’s all here.”

Paizs and Hall found out about the home by accident. The couple was just driving down the street and saw the house was under renovation.

A simple phone call to the Slavic Village Development Corporation got the ball rolling and now the couple plans to move into the house In October.

“To actually say I’m 30 years old and about to have the means to buy my own house, to provide for my family, I feel it’s great,” Hall said.

The groups that  make up Slavic Village Recovery LLC are real estate developer Forest City Enterprises Inc., Valley View property management company, Safeguard Properties, RIK Enterprises, Slavic Village Development Corporation and Neighborhood Progress Incorporated.

This team is blend public and private dollars, and a group that hopes to renovate up to 300 homes with the next three years.
