Parma School Bus Driver Fired After Taking Knife From Young Boy

A rookie Parma City School District bus driver was fired last week after he says he used “common sense” in not calling police in response to a young boy with a knife.
Parma resident Dennis Kaliszewski, 60, was on only his second solo shift when the incident occurred the afternoon of Nov. 14 on the way home from Pleasant Valley Elementary School. His status as a substitute driver was terminated the next day, the district confirmed.
