CLEVELAND, OH (WOIO) –

More than 330 people have already been hospitalized with the flu in Ohio, but Cleveland Clinic doctors say this is still a good time to get the flu vaccine.

Influenza (flu) activity commonly peaks in the United States in January or February.

According to the Ohio Department of Health, while vaccines provide the greatest protection against the flu, other effective measures include:

-Washing hands frequently or using alcohol-based hand sanitizer

-Covering coughs and sneezes with tissues or coughing or sneezing into elbows
