*Oprah Winfrey insists she wasn’t “robbed” of an Academy Award nomination yesterday after failing to secure a Best Supporting Actress nod for “The Butler.”

Oscar buzz had surrounded the TV titan for her role in “Lee Daniels’ The Butler,” however, she didn’t make the cut when the nominations were announced yesterday.

Oprah says she isn’t at all upset about being snubbed and praised the women who were nominated in the Best Supporting Actress category – Julia Roberts, Lupita Nyong’o, Jennifer Lawrence, June Squibb and Sally Hawkins.

”I do not think I was robbed at all. How dare anybody say that I was robbed … Robbed? Are you kidding? Never, never, never!

”Because when you look at the category – Julia, and Sally, and June, and Jennifer, and Lupita!”

Oprah did nab a BAFTA nomination for her portrayal of Gloria Gaines – the wife of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), a butler who served seven presidents – in the acclaimed historical film and she concedes it’s difficult for Oscar voters to consider all of the films which vie for the coveted awards.

”That’s what’s so wonderful about the Oscars,” she told Access Hollywood. “There are wonderful films, and the fact that you have so many films that you can’t even get people in all the categories. And the fact that I, actually, after 15 years was able to actually do it.”
