The City of Cleveland will finalize installation today of 40 recycling bins throughout the downtown Cleveland area, as part of the City’s ongoing effort to increase recycling rates and materials diverted from landfills.

The recycle bins have been placed next to existing waste receptacles and are located between West 9th Street and East 12th Street from Lakeside Avenue to Prospect Avenue, with some locations extending along Euclid Avenue to Playhouse Square and Cleveland State University.

Each recycle bin has a blue lid to distinguish it from waste receptacles and is equipped with a messaging panel indicating what materials are accepted. Acceptable materials include:

· Plastic Containers (numbered #1 through #7)

· Glass Containers (all colors)

· Aluminum Cans

· Paper

· Cardboard

· Magazines
