*CBS on Tuesday announced a slew of premiere dates for its summer 2014 slate, including Steven Spielberg’s science fiction series “Extant,” starring Halle Berry.
The mystery thriller, which has the Oscar winner as an astronaut trying to re-establish ties with her family after spending a year in space, will premiere Wednesday, July 9 at 9 p.m. ET.
Goran Visnjic and Camryn Manheim also star in the drama.
“Big Brother” will be making an early return for the second summer in a row, with season 16 kicking off Wednesday, June 25 at 8 p.m. ET. Hosted by Julie Chen, the reality series will air three nights a week – Wednesday, Thursday and Sunday installments. The first eviction will take place on Thursday, July 3.
Last summer’s most-watched program, “Under the Dome,” will return for its sophomore season on Monday, June 30 at 10 p.m. ET. Stephen King, who wrote the best-selling novel on which the series is based, penned the script for the season 2 premiere.
“Unforgettable” returns for its third season on Sunday, June 29 at 10 p.m. ET.
The debut episode of “Reckless” will also air on June 29 in the 9 p.m. ET time-slot. The new legal drama is set in Charleston, S.C., and centers around two lawyers (Cam Gigandet, Anna Wood) who have to hide their mutual attraction for each other in the face of a massive police scandal.
